Cattai is a beautiful coastal wetland that provides a sanctuary for over 170 different species of birds, kangaroos, wallabies and regularly spotted goannas. You can just relax and take in the wonderful vistas, explore some of the over 4 km of walks and boardwalks or just appreciate how this natural area is fixing the acid sulphate soil problem in this area.

There are many choices of places to go walking, driving, bird-watching, swimming, fishing and water sports, eating and drinking.

The nearby towns of Harrington and Laurieton (20 minutes away) have many restaurants, hotels, bistros, supermarkets, parks with grassy areas and shady trees to supply all your dining out requirements. Other lovely hinterland towns in the area include Kendall, Kew, Comboyneang Hannam Vale.

Port Macquarie has restaurants, shops, clubs, museums and boat trips. You can hire a kayak at Dunbogan or play tennis on the all-weather courts in Moorland.

If you're looking for a bit of adventure and action on your stay, there are many activities in the surrounding areas of the mid north coast.
